This blog is dedicated to the study of culture through the sociological lens. Culture has many elements to include material and non-material things. Elements can include symbols, language, art, values, beliefs, and norms. Culture also includes mass media sometimes considered "pop" culture.
I wanted to share this with my fellow sociologists. What do you think
about how males are represented in the media? Is male sexism growing?

Very interesting. I always felt like male gender roles were always present in the media. Personally, I think there is more attention on how females are depicted.
Men are depicted as athletic, engage in violence, sexist and much more. Even at a young age, gender coded toys and television shows plant this seed for males to carry these gender roles onto adulthood.
